Every summer, we have a Book Challenge in our family.
The stakes are high; a day trip of the winner’s choice with Mom and Dad.
The older girls compete against each other and the younger girls try to beat their own personal best.
Our overall winner this year was Hailey.
Hailey is the winner of an all expense paid trip to the Dallas Arboretum and Panera Bread, followed by a large banana split at Braum’s.
🏆
This year, the book challenge led to an interesting discussion in which they learned about the electoral college vs popular vote (likened unto number of books read vs number of words read and how the winner could win solely based on words rather than number of books). Hailey won the electoral college and the popular vote, though. 😁
Edited to add: I always tell the girls that you never lose when you’re reading books even if you lose.
Valiant effort, Hannah. ❤️
